Hi Mystery Author,

I’m super excited for this! I do have some general things, as well as some fandom-specific things I’d like to see.

General info

first of all, i’d be perfectly happy to receive fic in any of the following languages: English, German, French. some short bits of actual Russian or Yiddish dialogue is also fine, but I don’t think I can read a whole fic in either of those languages.

I’d also be happy to receive any gift at any rating, as long as it doesn’t violate any DNWs (so, yes, smut is welcome)

Alex/Henry:

• ugh THESE TWO. they’re so lovely and perfect together and i love them both SO MUCH and i want them to be happy!
• what happened at the Olympics? What was going through Henry’s head? Alex’s? We have some idea, but not in detail.
• i want to see these two nerds being nerds

Bea & Henry:

• I love their relationship! Supportive, loving siblings who tease the hell out of each other!

Henry & Pez

• How did they become friends? How did Henry deal with this super outgoing and flamboyant guy?

June & Bea & Nora:

• What are they doing while Alex and Henry are off being Alex and Henry and Pez is jetting off for some philanthropic event?

Alex & Liam

• So, like, Liam was pretty obviously in love with Alex when they were teenagers - how did he cope with that?
• Do you think they become friends after the events of the novel? Like they regularly text each other?

Liam/Spencer:

• We don’t see much of either of them but I’m so curious!

Likes:

• For this fandom: canon compliant or canon divergent AUs, mostly. I feel like a lot of Alex and Henry’s relationship is tied to their circumstances, and while I like to believe they’d be together in any universe, I don’t think they’d act the same way with each other (but if you’d like to explore that, feel free)
• I’d kill for a Nora Purim party tbh!

Dislikes:

• Beyond the above DNW / Squicks / Triggers, I really can’t think of much fandom-specific except for some reason, the fandom has decided Henry is the kind of person who not only reads a ton of YA in his 20s (and tbh i can’t talk) but who also recommends it to random people, which I feel like he…. Would not.
• Also, like, Alex is super smart, y’all, so please no “lol Alex is a dumb jock” stuff. He’s got undiagnosed ADHD and he managed not just to get into Georgetown, but also do well there, and also pass the LSATs and (iirc) get into NYU Law? He’s definitely got tunnel vision when it comes to his passions (politics, Henry, arguing) but he’s super smart!

Harry Potter

Neville/Anthony

• My rare pair OTP to end all OTPs
• I want to see Neville finding a Nice Jewish Boy who loves him for who he is, not just Neville Longbottom, War Hero™
• Also I like it best when Anthony, like most Ravenclaws, is a little weird, but Neville finds it endearing

Remus/Lily:

• Probably the oldest ship I’ve continuously shipped as an OTP
• They have so much in common! They’re smart and snarky and have a strong sense of justice!
• I would KILL for fic of Remus & Lily both being Jewish and bonding over it

Neville & Luna:

• I love these two as a ship but also as best friends; for chocolate box this year, I want to focus on their friendship
• neither of them really have… many other friends. (and their other friends are kind of mean to them). Neville and Luna are like the outsiders among outsiders and I’d love to see them bond over that.
• Neville talking about some plant and Luna’s just like “oh yes the snorkacks love that” and neville just… fondly bemused.
• also i would LOVE to see this relationship as the focus with other listed ships as background (namely Neville/Anthony and Luna/Rolf)

Rolf/Charlie:

• It’s pretty much canon that Charlie idolizes Newt, right? I like both when Charlie knows who Rolf is (i.e. Newt’s grandson) before they get close, and also where Charlie finds out who Rolf is after they’re already together. Both are good.

Luna/Rolf:

• I HC both of these characters as autistic and sort of going against the grain in their shared field, and bonding over that (not that I really think wizards know what autism is, but i digress)
• Both of them just being as much Themselves as they want bc they fully love and accept and support each other

Regulus & Lily:

• really only in an AU where Regulus is not a Death Eater.

Neville & Luna & Ginny (Silver Trio):

• I imagine these three stay super close friends even after their lives go off in completely different directions! Maybe they meet up after months / years apart?

Likes:

• I love Muggle AUs, if I’m honest.
• fic where Neville’s allowed to talk about things that interest him without people acting like he’s boring, and just people respecting Neville in general.
• Jewish wizards!!! How does halacha apply to the wizarding world? are there different wizarding jewish movements? how do Jewish wizards interact with Jewish muggles?
• I love Luna friendship fic – either her making friends or her and her friends supporting each other. I love how honest she is, and I’d love something about her with creatures.
• Jewish Rolf Scamander (which is… pretty much canon, anyway)

Fandom-specific DNWs:

• Regulus Black and/or Charlie Weasley portrayed as anything but gay
• “the Death Eaters / Voldemort are good actually” (I’m jewish and they’re wizard nazis so… no)
• Death Eater fic in general unless it’s about unlearning that racism and changing sides, anything with Severus Snape or James Potter, the Marauders portrayed as uhhh not-bullies
• Sirius being portrayed by the narrative as a compassionate and good person (i love him, but he’s an asshole and treats everyone around him like shit)
• If you write a Muggle AU, please don’t use HIV/AIDS as an analogy for Remus being a werewolf. I really don’t like the implications of that analogy, even though, yes, JKR intended it (but JKR’s interview snippets are not canon)
• I’m not super into seventh year / war / dark fics except if it’s featuring Neville/Anthony or Neville & Luna

The Chronicles of Narnia

Edmund/OMC:

• I’ve sort of recently become super into the idea of gay (or, tbh, bi) Edmund and how he’d navigate that given the sort of patriarchal traditionalist evangelical christian society portrayed in the books.
• either in Narnia or in England; I’m not particular.

Edmund & Susan:

• they’re both the middle children, the sensible ones, and the outcasts in their family. How do they deal with that?

Susan/Original Character:

• Susan deserves some love. Either in Narnia or in England, male or female. I just ask that they’re human.

Likes:

• Progressive interpretations of Narnia
• back-in-England fics that show the Pevensies adjusting

Fandom-specific DNWs:

• the knock-you-over-the-head Christian imagery in the books (i know, I know. it’s Narnia. I know)
• also like… everyone dying in TLB. What was that? Can we retcon that?

James/Erin

• They’ve obviously got feelings for each other, but neither one wants to admit it.
• Slow burn friends-to-lovers (use as many tropes as you want!)
• Alternatively, they both realise they’re bi and end up dating each other

James & Michelle:

• Cousinly bonding! Teasing! (but deep down, they love each other)
• Michelle calling out James’s mother for the narcissistic trash bag she is

James/OMC:

• James is bisexual. That’s just facts. I have no real ideas for an original male character, but I do like the following:
• James realizing his crush on Father Peter is an actual crush (and not just admiration) and meeting a cute boy while coming to terms with that
• James and his nerd friends (potentially dating one of them?)
• James going to uni and realising “oh shit i’m not straight”

Charlene/Erin:

• Erin’s bisexual awakening (may or may not be concurrent to James’s)

Clare & James:

• I like the idea of Clare and James bonding over being not straight, but I feel like the way a lot of the fandom does it is sort of twee and modern in a way that makes no sense for the 90s (and also… not for Catholics.)

Clare/OFC:

• Someone get this girl a girlfriend! Clare deserves a nice girl to treat her right!
• Perhaps a Prod, which sends the gang into all sorts of fits

Likes:

• Maybe something set during / after uni? Or in their 20s?
• Listen: I love James. He’s a dick, but I love him. (Honestly, I love the whole crew; I’d be happy with fic of any of them, but James is my boy). Even if he’s not in the main ship, I’d love to see him included!

Fandom-specific DNWs:

• James being overly effeminate (he’s not the most masculine, but still)
• Like an angsty, serious focus on the Troubles. Or just angst in general for this series.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Anakin & Ahsoka

• BroTP to end all BroTPs

Padmé & Anakin & Obi-Wan & Ahsoka

• Fun squad adventures!
• Padmé and Anakin being SUPER OBVIOUS and Ahsoka and Obi-Wan being completely done with their bullshit

Padmé/Anakin

• I like these two a lot! I’m not super happy with how it happens canonically, but like… Padmé is as much of a reckless idiot as Anakin is and I love that

Likes:

• Anakin Skywalker is my absolute favorite Star Wars character, and he is an absolute disaster. I’d love fic of Anakin being a disaster – just constantly messing up everything around him.
• fun adventures!
• I’m actually super into mundane AUs for this series (just keep characterisation consistent)
• also…. i wanna say, unequivocally, I’m here for “palpatine fucks” jokes. just. please don’t have him fuck anakin.

Fandom-specific DNWs:

The Umbrella Academy

Five/Dolores

• i love them so much.
• Dolores can be a mannequin or a human (or an android if you want to go that route), but please keep her sassy
• Five just being so soft for her (and only her)

Klaus/Dave

• I also love them so much!
• I just want them to be happy!
• we can go with all the AUs here, tbh

Five & Vanya

• Vanya is clearly the one sibling Five actually likes most of the time in the show (a fun spin from the comics), and she clearly cares deeply for him
• I’m happy with anything with them. As kids, as adults, in an AU, following the show’s canon

Five & Klaus

• Five is a genius, but when Klaus is involved the plans seem to devolve into something not out of place on Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Dave & Dolores

• Siblings-in-law bonding!
• Again, Dolores can be a mannequin or human or android. (It’s probably funnier if she’s a mannequin)

Likes:

• explicitly Jewish Dave!
• also, Jewish Five has wormed his way into my heart!

Fandom-specific DNWs:

• woobifying Klaus (he’s… still an asshole)
• narratives dismissing / devaluing Vanya or Klaus (characters can do this if it’s clearly presented as wrong by the narrative)
• Luther being overly involved in the fic
• reiterating my no incest request here as well because yes that includes Luther/Allison
• Vanya/Leonard being portrayed as good/healthy/acceptable in any way

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue series by Mackenzi Lee

Johanna/Felicity:

• Felicity and Johanna meeting back up and falling in love!
• Going on adventures!

Johanna & Felicity:

• Going on adventures!
• Felicity and Johanna as kids!

Monty/Percy:

• I’d like to see them either between the events of Gentleman’s Guide and Lady’s Guide, or after the events of Lady’s Guide

Sim & Johanna & Felicity:

• badass women going on amazing adventures on their own!

Dante/OC:

• Obviously his sister is insane and Felicity doesn’t return his feelings, but Dante is a sweet and good boy and deserves some love!
• I have no preference for gender here!

Likes:

• Max the dog having a prominent role!
• What Johanna was up to in Germany!
• Monty’s time at Eton (Sinjon! Bonus points for split POV with Percy pining)

Fandom-specific DNWs:

• Focusing on Felicity being aro/ace (if you wanna read it as internalised homophobia, like I do, and go off that, then go ahead, or if you see her that way and don’t make it a major plot point, that’s fine)
• Felicity’s “polite” homophobia toward Monty and Percy (i.e. “they’re going against god” or whatever she goes on about in Lady’s Guide)
• Please please don’t focus on the abuse Monty’s father inflicts on him!
