Hi Mystery Author,

I’m super excited for this! I do have some general things, as well as some fandom-specific things I’d like to see.

First thing’s first - though the url is the same, I do want to state explicitly that my ao3 username is xslytherclawx. no pseuds, just the one.

General info

first of all, i’d be perfectly happy to receive fic in any of the following languages: English, German, French. some short bits of actual Russian (cyrillic preferred) or Yiddish (Hebrew or romanized) dialogue is also fine, but I don’t think I can read a whole fic in either of those languages.

I’d also be happy to receive any gift at any rating, as long as it doesn’t violate any DNWs (so, yes, smut is welcome)

In past exchanges, the gifts I’ve liked the best have tended to be fluffier (or at least have a happy ending), often funny, and relationship (though not necessarily romantic) focused rather than character-focused. While this isn’t true of all fandoms, it’s true for basically everything I have requested for Purimgifts this year.

In terms of likes and interests, feel free to pick and choose whatever appeals most to you. The fandom-specific prompts are only ideas to get you started; if one appeals to you, that’s great! If not, that’s totally fine, too! I’m pretty easy to please with fic exchanges!

You really only need to abide by the matched characters and the DNWs, and as long as that’s done, I’ll be happy with the result! I’ve only selected characters I’d be happy to receive fic for, and my DNWs are generally pretty comprehensive for that reason. American Girls: Lindsey - Chryssa Atkinson

This is really just the one book (Lindsey by Chryssa Atkinson). 2020 was a year of revisiting childhood nostalgia while holed up at my dad’s house in my childhood bedroom lol.

• I love Lindsey! I love how spunky she is, and how she keeps trying to do the right thing and just does not understand moderation or like… chilling out (relatable tbh)
• Legitimately she is one of my favorite American Girl characters. Kidnapping a lizard to stop him being “embarrassed” by a pet parade dress up thing… amazing. iconic. starting a food fight at her brother’s bar mitzvah? your fave could never.
• I’d really like to see a window into where Lindsey (and maybe April?) might be today. She’d be about… 30 today (wow), so there’s plenty to explore there! Does she have a Nice Jewish Boy? Nice Jewish Girl? I kind of can see her getting really involved in Jewish nonprofits tbh - maybe running a young adult network at her local J?
• Or: what was Lindsey’s bat mitzvah like? What was her mitzvah project? Did it involve animals? Chaos? both?

• I actually really like Maryellen! The books clearly tried to go heavy on the nostalgia factor, but she’s such a classic middle child and a STEM girl! And her best friend is a boy, which American Girl didn’t do too much of before.
• Davy’s last name is Fenstermacher, which can go either way, but I’d be really interested to see Jewish Davy in 1950s Florida. The Larkins are pretty obviously not Jewish, but to my recollection, there’s no mention of Davy celebrating Easter or Christmas.

• One thing I love about both the book and the film is how Elio, despite being pretty secular, is very culturally Jewish, and Judaism is one of the main things that draws him and Oliver together.
• I also love the undercurrent of nostalgia
• Elio’s stubbornness and desire to be taken seriously (so relatable as someone who was a teen Like That)
• I’d like to see them meeting again after the events of the film - whether they do it intentionally or not. What do you think would happen?
• What is Oliver’s life like in the USA? Elio’s life post-canon?
• I’d also be content to see either / both of them years later, happy with other people. It’s a story of first love - not necessarily true love (but if you want to make it true love, I’d also be into that!

• I think Gwen and Donna meeting could be really funny.

• Remus Lupin / Lily Evans: Probably the oldest ship I’ve continuously shipped as an OTP. They have so much in common! They’re smart and snarky and have a strong sense of justice!

• I love Muggle AUs, if I’m honest.
• fic where Neville’s allowed to talk about things that interest him without people acting like he’s boring, and just people respecting Neville in general.
• Jewish wizards!!! How does halacha apply to the wizarding world? are there different wizarding jewish movements? how do Jewish wizards interact with Jewish muggles?
• I love Luna friendship fic – either her making friends or her and her friends supporting each other. I love how honest she is, and I’d love something about her with creatures.

• Newt & Jacob: Newt’s second proper friendship, probably! I just love these two together tbh and will read anything with them (100% here for Jewish Jacob!)
• Newt & Leta: love these two people finding each other and making their own sort of family and loving and supporting each other so fiercely. (here for newt’s unrequited crush on leta)

• Five & Vanya: I’m thrilled we actually got to see more of them one-on-one in season two but I want more! Vanya is clearly the one sibling Five actually likes most of the time in the show (a fun spin from the comics), and she clearly cares deeply for him. I’m happy with anything with them. As kids, as adults, in an AU, following the show’s canon
• Five & Klaus: Five is a genius, but when Klaus is involved the plans seem to devolve into something that would not be out of place on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
• Dave & Dolores (& Sissy?): Siblings-in-law bonding! Again, Dolores can be a mannequin or human or android. (It’s probably funnier if she’s a mannequin)
